Looking south to Glengarnock station in 1997. The Lanarkshire and Ayrshire crossed over here on its route to Kilbirnie, which also served the Glengarnock Iron and Steel Works. By this date, the embankments on both sides had been largely eradicated although some hedge lines gave away where they had run. The siding to the right ran ahead to the goods yard, iron and steelworks. By 1997 it served a shed in the goods yard and ran for a very short length toward the former works having been cut back a few years before.
