The 1st Class booking hall at Manchester Liverpool Road, the oldest railway station in the world and now part of the Museum of Science and Industry. The stair case leads up to the platform See image 27593. When first opened as part of the museum this hall had a number of mannequins in period costume and was quite atmospheric. Although beautifully restored I have to say it is now a bit soulless.
