Dalry Road

The gap on the bricks reveals the blocked-up eastern entrance with steps up to Dalry Road station. We are in the Telfer Subway (between Fountainbridge and Dalry) which once went under the CR lines out of Princes Street, converted to a road in 1974. How may people poured (or trickled) out of here to nearby factories is hard to say; my impression is that Edinburgensians who were around at the time did''t even notice that they had a suburban rail network. This may explain why the number of suburban stations post-Beeching was 1 (Slateford).
