Aultnaslanach Viaduct

47727 heads the return working of the NER's Railtour from Inverness to Newcastle. The engine is passing over the Ault-na-slanach Viaduct at Moy, the last timber viaduct existing on a main line Scottish railway. The viaduct was completed in 1897 and built of timber because of difficulty in securing foundations for a steel or masonry bridge. It underwent refurbishment in 2003 after some of the structure was found to be rotting. 66728 *Institution of Railway Operators * is on the rear of the train.
