47854 brings the empty stock of the Railway Touring Company's 'Edinburgh Christmas Market' special from York round the Niddrie North/West chord (part of the suburban circle) in a manoeuvre to turn the train round on the Niddrie triangle for its return to York. 60009 was on the rear.
