Class 20 no D8120 approaches Niddrie West Junction in February 1970 with an unfitted freight from Millerhill, possibly the 14.56 to Mossend running early. This was booked as a class 8 freight but the headcode discs have unhelpfully not been deployed on this occasion. On the right are NCB internal lines and exchange sidings with the headgear of Newcraighall's Klondyke Colliery (production ceased in 1968) standing in the right background.
