Buildings at North Spiers Wharf under heavy renovation to become flats in 1988. The nearest and smaller building is the former canal company office and beyond the Port Dundas Sugar Refinery and City of Glasgow Grain Mills (both latterly bonded warehousing). The quay was served by a long siding from St Rollox which crossed the canal by two swing bridges at Port Dundas to reach this point. See image 61521. The view looks north. At the time this was the end of the Glasgow branch before the re-connection to Port Dundas basin was made.
