PS Prince George at Balloch Pier (note the NB van and wagons on the pier). Prince George and sister ship PS Princess May were introduced in 1899. Both were built at Inglis' Pointhouse Shipbuilding Yard for the Dumbarton and Balloch Joint line fleet and made the arduous trip up the River Leven late in 1898. Prince George was broken up at Balloch in 1942, outlived by Princess May (broken up at Balloch in 1953). Postcard view.
