Summerseat
Class 24s are not stylish locos, but D5054 has recently been refurbished and looked and sounded great as it pulled away from Summerseat with a six coach train for Rawtenstall on 5th July 2019. This loco survived into preservation as, after main line withdrawal, it was used for several years as a departmental Train Heating Unit. It has been on the ELR since 1987 and is named 'Phil Southern' after one of the pioneers of the East Lancashire Railway Preservation Society.
