One of two daily SJ loco-hauled trains waits in the high summer weather to depart for Stockholm. Here the loco runs round this 5 coach train; otherwise the much longer sleeper at 10 to 15 coaches runs to the next station on the line Duved see image 65526. Local trains operated by Norrtåg run 4 hourly to and from Sundsvall. On the platforms outside the modern station building, Station Åre, there is only minimal shelter from the temperature extremes of Summer +30 Celsius and winter -30 Celsius.
