UK Railtours' excursion from London Kings Cross just arrived at Stanhope station, the current terminus of the Weardale Railway in County Durham, on 11th May 2019. The line originally ran to a terminus at Wearhead and closed to passengers in 1953. Since partially reopening as a heritage railway from Bishop Auckland as far as Stanhope, its vicissitudes have been manifold, too complex to precis here so may I suggest you google Weardale Railway if you would like further information.
