A postal train, originating in Norrland (the North of Sweden), passes on its way south towards Stockholm. At the end of 2019 the train service between Sundsvall and Stockholm will be replaced by lorries as it is 'uneconomic' to run a train for the ever-decreasing number of letters being sent within Sweden. Postnord, the Danish and Swedish combined public postal service, claim that they currently send 65% of letters by train between rail-head terminals and that they have stopped sending letters on internal flights. The railfreight company Green Cargo normally has green coloured locos see image 58316-perhaps they feel that this decision is not very green?
