The fully restored ex-Highland Railway station at Strathpeffer, dating from 1885, on 18th June 2019. Closed to passengers in 1946 and completely in 1951, the restoration houses a cafe, a tourist office and the Highland Childhood Museum while the former telegraph office is now a bookshop. All this but, alas, no trains. The trackbed east to Dingwall seems to be in a reasonable condition, a narrow gauge tourist steam railway on the trackbed for a mile or two would be a nice idea.
