View along the former Lower Edmonton to Angel Road section of the old Enfield branch, looking towards the site of Montagu Road level crossing, on 12th August 2019. This section closed to passengers in 1939, and to freight in 1964, but Edmonton Green to Enfield Town is still served by London Overground trains via the 1872 line from Bethnal Green. Thus one part of the 1849 Enfield line is still intensively used as a commuter route while the other part, as seen here, has been completely abandoned.
