Barton Hill

An example of an LNER 'Modern look' signal box, built at Barton Hill on the York - Scarborough line in 1936. View is south over the level crossing in April 2009. Barton Hill was one of a small number of crossings to have lifting barriers mechanically operated by a wheel located within the signal box see image 25355
