Saxmundham
The rather stark appearance of present day Saxmundham station has been brought about by the recent demolition of the main station building following a fire. This view from the new Lowestoft platform looks towards Ipswich in July 2019. It shows the East Suffolk line control centre, the two level crossings and the start of the single line section to Woodbridge. The original Lowestoft platform was staggered and on the far side of the level crossing.
