Gorgie East
Following a fire in a relay room at the Haymarket Junctions in 1995, the 'sub' between there and Craiglockhart Junction was put out of use or months. Such was the deterioration of the trackbed that, prior to reopening, major refurbishment was required. Looking north at the site of Gorgie East station, the inner circle has been lifted with the concrete sleepers deposited on the outer circle track.
