Midway between Carlisle and Riddings Junction, the Waverley Route passed through the wayside station of Lyneside, serving the small Cumbrian village of Westlinton on the River Lyne. The station saw few passengers during its existence, with closure coming as early as 1929. View is west towards the site of the level crossing in the autumn of 2007. The grey building in the left background is a garden shed, formed from the base of the old signal box. The original box is shown at 26353.
