Lewis Cubitt's King's Cross station, opened in 1852 for the Great Northern Railway, seen here on 15th January 2020. Demolition of the ghastly buildings put up in front of the station in 1972, and meant to be only temporary though they lasted 40 years, was intended to open up a view of the station frontage with a brand new plaza, called King's Cross Square, but these equally ghastly buildings still blot out most of the view, more's the pity.
