Crewe Works
An unexpected sight on a Crewe Works visit in July 1967 was ex works 92220 Evening Star. It had just undergone a major front end repair and general overhaul, plus repaint, after suffering extensive buffer beam damage in Cardiff Docks in 1965 and subsequent withdrawal by BR. After repair it became part of the National Collection and is now based at the NRM bases in York or Shildon
