Wensley

'SHUT THAT DOOR... ' Breakfast disturbance at Wensley station in November 2004 as a DMU on the Wensleydale Railway passes through with a Leeming - Redmire service. The old station closed to passenger traffic in April 1954 and had since been converted to serve as self-catering holiday accommodation. Note the 'Waiting Rooms' (plural) above the door, referring to the public area from which the photograph was taken, together with a second private waiting area off to the left, once reserved for use by family and associates of local landowner Lord Bolton (now used as the main bedroom).
