Dating from 1833, Soho shed at Shildon was part of the original Soho Engine Works. It was used by Timothy Hackworth, who served as locomotive superintendent of the Stockton & Darlington Railway between 1825 and 1840. The building underwent major restoration work in 1975 and is currently used to store some of the museums oldest objects. Photograph taken during a visit in November 2007.
