Stirling

Stirling station was a terminal for Motorail services to a variety of destinations over the years to 1989, including Kensington Olympia, Cambridge, Bristol, Brockenhurst, Dover and Newton Abbot. By 1985, only a London Euston service remained. This is pictured at Stirling on 25th September that year awaiting departure at 11.30, double-headed by 25199 and 27207. The high end cars loaded at the other end of the train suggested a certain wealthy clientele and I imagine the gentleman making himself known to the driver is politely asking for restraint on the curves of the WCML lest his beloved Bentley fly off its open wagon.
