Camelford

Camelford station, on the former North Cornwall Line, seen here abandoned in June 1974. The station closed when the long line from Halwill Junction on the Bude branch to Wadebridge was closed in October 1966. Though the station was some distance from the town of Camelford, it was nevertheless the nearest for the popular coastal beauty spots of Boscastle and Tintagel (where stand the ruins of, allegedly, King Arthur's Castle) and was thus one of the better used stations on the line, especially in summer.
