Kinsale

Kinsale Station survives as a private dwelling and associated business premises despite closing in 1931. The branch from Kinsale Junction (latterly Crossbarry) opened in 1863. There were extensive facilities provided - with four tracks between the passenger platform to the right and the goods shed and loading bank to the left. Further to the left, and out of the picture, was a carriage siding and a further siding for loading cattle. An engine shed with a small turntable in front was provided at the Kinsale Junction end of the platform. It is not clear if remains of the shed and turntable survive, access into the private property not being possible.
