Edinburgh Waverley
The early morning sun casts long shadows over Princes Street and Waverley station, with the time approaching 0700 on 28 July 2007. Arriving stage left is a semi-fast from Glasgow Queen Street formed by a Scotrail DMU in Commonwealth Games promotional livery. Meantime, alongside platform 19, EWS 67022 is preparing to get underway with the late running Aberdeen portion of the sleeper, at this point more than two hours behind schedule. The engineering works are in connection with ongoing platform and track modifications.
