Roe Green Junction

Roe Green Junction was the point where the Tyldesley Loop line joined the Bolton Great Moor Street branch. The line to Tyldesley diverged left in this view, and the line on the right to Bolton climbs through Walkden. Both are now part of Salford's network of greenways on these old LNWR lines. Passenger services to Bolton ceased in 1954 but the loop line through Leigh to Kenyon Junction lasted until 1969.
