Faslane Junction Yard

Two single track bridges crossing a burn on the former railway built to serve No.1 Military Port during WW2. The line ran from Faslane Junction on the WHR and was double track from the exchange sidings down to the port. After the war the port was used to scrap ships and later steam locomotives. The latter were delivered to the site along the railway as was the scrap metal going in the opposite direction heading to the steelworks in the west of Scotland. Both bridges are fenced off as there is no decking although the sleepers remain in place.
