Redbridge Viaduct

The Waverley route looking south towards the Tweed from Winston Road, Galashiels, taken from the infilled bridge above the old trackbed in June 2013. The hiker on the left is ascending the access ramp constructed following conversion of the trackbed to what became a popular walkway linking Galashiels and Tweedbank. Re-excavation and replacement of the old railway bridge proved a lengthy and complex project, resulting in closure of Winston Road for over a year. See image 49194.
