The advertising fraternity knew their Glasgow target audience only too well, to judge from the posters seen from the buffer stops at Glasgow Queen St High Level in 1965. Cigarettes and alcohol took up rather more space than milk, though I have to say that the 'Drinka Pinta' slogan was quite catching in its day. The train just arrived was a Friday/Saturday only summer service from York, brought in by V2 2-6-2 60813. The stovepipe chimney and associated smoke deflection system on this locomotive were unique and, at least to my mind, rather disfiguring.
