Isle of Man Railway No. 5 'Mona' was the oldest of the active locomotives seen on a visit to the island in 1965. The visit was a 24-hour expedition from Glasgow organised by the railway club at my former school. Unusually and fortunately, as far as I was concerned, recent FP's were invited along also! Mona, dating from 1874, was photographed at the water column at Peel after bringing in the 12.35 arrival from Douglas.
