East Ham

Exterior of East Ham station, east London, on 15th July 2021. This station was originally opened by the LTSR in 1858 and also served by District Line trains from 1902. Southend trains, then under BR Eastern Region control, ceased to call after electrification in 1962, leaving the station with District Line services to and from Upminster and Metropolitan (now the Hammersmith & City) services to and from Barking only. This and the other stations between Bromley-by-Bow and Upminster remained in main line ownership, however, until 1969 (except Barking and Upminster).
