The wet and windswept remains of Bowes station on the Stainmore route looking north across the trackbed in March 2010, more than 48 years after closure. Nearest the camera on the left is the remains of a former goods shed, while the crumbling buildings in the background are on the old Barnard Castle bound platform. The station site now occupies farmland, with an access road crossing the site and a large farm building built over the trackbed just off picture to the right.
