Gilderdale

During a few days based in Alston I ran along the South Tyne Trail, which shares the trackbed of the South Tynedale Railway. No trains were in service although there was some activity at the engine shed in Alston. This is the viaduct over the Gilderdale burn, which is also the border between Cumberland and Northumberland and has an attractive sign fixed to the railing.
