Gilderdale

Gilderdale Viaduct can be seen close to the A689 road, running between Alston and Brampton, and is some two miles north of Alston. It is a four arch stone structure sitting over the Gilderdale Burn, and is crossed by the South Tynedale Railway services from Alston to Slaggyford. The viaduct design matches that of the Burnstones Viaduct a few miles further north See image 78687
