B1 61029 'Chamois' at Eastfield, on 1st November 1966. An unremarkable shot, but one that I'm nevertheless quite sentimental about, as it turned out to be the last occasion (in BR days) on which I saw a locomotive in steam at the depot. Not only that but, unusually for the time, the nameplates were still in place. 61029 had been a pretty frequent sight around Central Scotland in the fifties and sixties, and I first saw it when I was about ten years old. Evidently I pontificated to my brother that it was called 'Shamoys', a pronunciation that I was never subsequently allowed to forget!
