Merryton Junction
Demolition of old girder bridge and decking at Merryton Junction before replacing with a new concrete structure in March 2005. This bridge carries the A72 Hamilton to Lanark Road. These works were carried out prior to the reopening of the Hamilton to Larkhall line. The 360 deg excavator is using a hydraulic pecker to break out the concrete and brickwork to loosen the girder prior to the crane lifting it out.
