Merryton Junction
Demolition of old girder bridge and decking at Merryton Junction before replacing with a new concrete structure in March 2005. This bridge carries the A72 Hamilton to Lanark Road. These works were carried out prior to the reopening of the Hamilton to Larkhall line. The crane in the picture had a 100 tonne SWL and was used to lift out the girders and beams.
