Cloughton

Old gas lamp outside the former Cloughton Station, North Yorkshire, in April 2009, complete with suspended B&B totem. Located 4 miles north of Scarborough on the coastal route to Whitby the station famously hosted as many as 3 camping coaches from LNER days until shortly before closure by BR in 1965. Note the surviving waterslide transfers inside the lamp glasses, once a common site at UK railway stations (see image 20678).
