A surviving water column at the eastern end of the Cork platform at Ballineen & Enniskean on a wet May day in 2021. The platform edge survives although the trackbed has been filled in. The station building also survives although it is currently derelict. Looking westwards a railway mural appears on a new building built across the trackbed. The surviving goods shed and loading dock is immediately beyond this new building. The two villages of Ballineen and Enniskean were originally served by separate stations which opened in 1866 but in 1891 the new Ballineen & Enniskean station opened to serve both villages. The station closed on 31 March 1961.
