Morden South
Morden South, on the Wimbledon & Sutton line, looking south from a Thameslink service from and back to St. Albans City, running anti-clockwise along what is a vast loop, returning via Mitcham Junction, on the afternoon of Saturday, 15th October 2022. This station opened on 5th January 1930 with the extension to Sutton from South Merton that had been reached from Wimbledon on 7th July 1929 and including an intermediate station at Wimbledon Chase. Out of view on the left at a lower level is the LU Northern Line depot but complete separation prevails. Plans for a connection to allow tube trains to run to Sutton never came to fruition.
