Todmorden Lock 19 [RC]
The cramped site of Lock 19 in Todmorden necessitated the use of this guillotine style lower gate. The balance weights can be seen at the top and, when the lock opens, they go in the water under the passing boat. The canal closed in 1952 but was restored as a through route in 2002.
