DE 24 103 (Tulomsas) running through platform 1 at Adana on 23 August 2009. It is proceeding from the MPD just visible at the extreme right. In the background is the stock for the daily express to Ankara. The number indicates that these locomotives are rated at 2400HP and were for a long time the principal power for both freight and passenger services. It is carrying the then new livery which involved a painted number replacing the cast numberplate and TCDD plate on the cabside and repositioning the the star and crescent moon higher on the cab. It retains the cast numberplate on the front. This particular loco has been equipped with both cab air conditioning and electric train heat, which affects their haulage capacity.
