Original 1933 passimeter ticket booth, dating from the opening of Cockfosters. No longer used as such but perfectly preserved as seen on 9th January 2023. These were an American invention with the name derived from the devices that counted passengers as they passed through the turnstiles below the windows. Dr. Charles Holden incorporated them into his Piccadilly Line stations but, as time went by, the name came to be applied to any free-standing ticket both.
