Haydock Branch Junction
66762 reverses twelve box wagons of stone back from the headshunt on the erstwhile St Helens Central branch up the gradient into the stone plant at Edge Hill near Golborne on 8th February 2023. The stone travels from Shap to Tuebrook overnight in a long train and is then moved here in two trips as the maximum capacity of the headshunt is twelve wagons. The driver is in radio contact with the shunter who is walking ahead of the train. This is usually a Class 60 duty but 66s substitute on occasions as here.
