Fylde Junction
The lines around Preston were closed on 18th and 19th February 2023 for major pointwork replacement. The sidings at Fylde Junction would usually be empty on a Saturday but there were no WCML trains between Lancaster and Wigan, on the Ormskirk and Blackpool lines and the East Lancashire line west of Blackburn. Services from Manchester were turning back at Buckshaw Parkway and trains on all lines to Preston were 'bustituted'.
