Norton [Cheshire]
Norton station, on the Warrington to Chester line, closed in 1952. The platforms were removed but the station building became a private home. At that time it was in a very rural location but new town developments meant that by the 1980s a new station could be justified. Rather than reopen Norton, Runcorn East was built (very) close by and opened in 1983. This view looks towards Chester in May 2023 and shows the old Norton station building and the platforms of Runcorn East just beyond.
