The Grand Junction Railway opened a station at Moore in 1837 but it was closed by the LMS in 1943. The platforms and buildings have been removed but this path to the Up Side is still available for WCML trackside staff to access the line. On the down side, two railway cottages survive in residential use and their roof can be seen here above the trees.
