Montrose Grain Store, on Caledonia Street just north of the wet dock (infilled today) was served via a turnplate on a siding from the Caledonian station. The line entered approached the granary through this building, the customs house, via the arch below the clock. Lines in the harbour area were independent of the railway companies who had running rights.
