Skipton
Operators come and go, but on the railway some signs live on for ever. It is 15 1/2 years since GNER gave up the East Coast franchise, with National Express, and then Virgin / Stagecoach, trying their hand at making a profit, before the Government's Operator of Last Resort took on current operations under the LNER banner; but after all that time a GNER stop board still sits at the north end of Skipton station up through platform.
